A Ngarrindjeri and Yamatji man with a deep sense of community and a strong desire to contribute to the health, social and economic wellbeing of his people - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
With growing leadership credentials and over 15 years’ experience working alongside Australia’s first peoples, Dougie has dedicated his life to advocating for and influencing system change that enables Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and other marginalised groups, to fully participate as active and valued citizens of this country.
A Fleurieu Future Leader Alumni, and current Chairperson of Neporendi Aboriginal Forum Inc., Dougie’s professional experience is rooted in Aboriginal affairs and includes roles spanning employment and training, community development, Indigenous research, research translation and implementation.

Experienced organisational and community leader. Skilled communicator, educator, collaborator, team-builder and networker – public and media presenter at a diverse range of events and topics.
Leadership positions have spanned the past 16 years advising Federal and State Government.. A Fellow of the Governor’s Leadership Foundation. Honoured to receive prestigious awards including an International Women’s Day Award, 2017 SA Public Education Award – Community Engagement, SA Children’s Week Awards for outstanding and consistent contributions to the needs, interest and welfare of children both in 2014 and 2015 and an Australia Day Young Citizen of the Year Award in 2018.
Lauren performs well in complexity and has a unique ability to support others to develop creative solutions to wicked problems. She creates the conditions for people to contribute fully resulting in the desired outcome being achieved.
Tommy Hicks

A Yamatji man, passionate about social change through education, improving a wide variety of outcomes for Aboriginal people and role modelling cycle breaking behaviours for young people.
Effective and reliable team member, who is adaptable and innovative in reaching set common goals. Developed marketing and communication ability, enables Tommy to meaningfully engage a range of diverse groups, doing this with an honest and supportive approach.
Tommy is an enthusiastic consultant who embraces challenges and actively seeks out opportunities to learn, be innovative and develop his skillset.
