Douglas Clinch Jnr

Consultant

Dougie is a proud Ngarrindjeri and Yamatji man with a deep-rooted commitment to community and a strong drive to improve the health, social, and economic outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

With over 15 years of experience working alongside First Nations communities, Dougie has dedicated his life to advocating for meaningful, systemic change. His work is grounded in the belief that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples—and all marginalised groups—should be empowered to fully participate as active, respected, and valued citizens in this country.

Dougie’s leadership continues to grow through a range of formal and community-based roles. He is an inaugural member of the SA First Nations Voice to Parliament, a Fleurieu Future Leader Alumni, and the current Chairperson of Neporendi Aboriginal Forum Inc. His professional background spans Aboriginal affairs, employment and training, community development, Indigenous-led research, and the translation of evidence into culturally relevant practice.

Dougie is widely respected for his ability to walk between systems and community—amplifying voices, building strong relationships, and influencing change that is both grounded and forward-thinking.
